TRANS

For more than ten years, together with my partner, the journalist Beate Lakotta, I have accompanied young people who feel they are girls but were born in a boy's body and vice versa. The portraits make the difficult process of becoming one with oneself visible. The project includes a video documentary. In interviews, the trans girls and boys talk about self-rejection and self-discovery, solidarity and exclusion, friendship and bullying, experiences with parents, siblings and first love.

The Deichtorhallen Hamburg and the Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt, among others, showed parts of the series.
Work on the project is still ongoing.
