These photos were taken at a casting. My assignment was to photograph children’s fashion for the magazine “Eltern”. There were plenty of agencies in the Seventies that provided skilled children’s models. But I didn’t want to photograph children who could laugh or jump in the air on command. Even then, the children interested me more than the clothes. In a village in Lower Bavaria, I went on a search. The children I portrayed there were maybe seven or eight years old, but each showed a pronounced personality. I would love to know if they remained that way.
